Intensified traffic is expected on city and their bypass roads, especially in the coastal area. Occasional traffic jams and queues are possible in roadwork areas. We ask drivers to drive patiently and keep the safety distance between the vehicles. TRAFFIC INCIDENTS AND IRREGULAR EVENTS: -due to an animal (dog) on the road on the A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway between the Vučevica and Split junctions (370+000 km) in direction Dubrovnik, there is a speed limit of 60 km/h. MOTORWAYS: A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway: -- EXTRAORDINARY TRANSPORT: -until 31 July from 11pm until 5am, traffic will occasionally be suspended for up to 15 minutes at the Bisko junction; -from 13 July until 12 Aug (1am - 5am), traffic will be occasionally suspended up to 15 minutes in direction Zagreb at the Karlovac paytoll and junction, Demerje and Lučko paytoll, Lučko junction (from A1 to A3 motorway) and at the Zagreb zapad junction (A3). A2 Zagreb-Macelj: -from 7 July between Krapina and Đurmanec in direction Macelj, traffic is proceeding over one lane only -traffic is proceeding over one lane between 6th and 8th km (Trakošćan-Đurmanec) A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway: -until 31 Dec at the Zagreb zapad junction from direction Lipovac (A3) towards Zagreb, from direction Bregana (A3) and Macelj (A2) towards Zagreb (Sava bridge-Jankomir) traffic is flowing in one lane only; -until 23 July due to drainage repairs between the Popovača and Kutina junctions, direction Lipovac, traffic will proceed on two narrowed lanes; due to dense traffic, daily traffic jams and queues are possible, especially on Fridays; -until 31 Aug due to roadwork, the Kraljeva Velika sjever and Kraljeva Velika jug rest stops are closed in both directions. EXTRAORDINARY TRANSPORT: -until 10 July from 11 P.M. to 5 A.M., traffic will be temporarily suspended for up to 15 minutes at the Okučani toll station in direction of the A3 motorway, at exit slips from the direction of Bregana and Lipovac and on the A3 motorway A4 Zagreb-Goričan motorway:-until 1 Aug due to roadwork between the Zagreb istok and Popovec junctions traffic will proceed in reduced lanes in both directions and queues are expected; EXTRAORDINARY TRANSPORT: -until 31 July from 12 A.M. to 5 A.M. between the Zagreb istok and Popovec junctions and between the Breznički Hum and Novi Marof junctions, traffic will be temporarily suspended for both directions for a maximum of 15 min A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway: EXTRAORDINARY TRANSPORT: -until 10 July (for one night) traffic will be temporarily suspended between the Rijeka paytoll and Kikovica junction in both directions -from 13 July until 12 August from 1am until 4am, traffic will be temporarily suspended 3 times for up to 15 minutes between the Rijeka pay toll and the Kikovica junction in both directions A7 Rupa-Rijeka motorway: -until 11 June 2027 traffic is flowing in reduced lanes at the Matulji-Opatija junction, A8 highway/DC8 state road intersection; A8/A9 motorways in Istria:-due to roadwork on the A8 motorway, there is temporary traffic regulation; -due to roadwork between between the Učka tunnel and Matulji junction, there is temporary traffic regulation with occasional traffic suspensions; -between the Kanfanar and Medaki junctions at the Limska Draga viaduct there is a traffic ban on abnormal load larger than 3,3 m in both directions; STATE ROADS DC1 Macelj-Zagreb-Karlovac-Gračac-Knin-Sinj state road: -due to roadwork on certain sections, there is temporary traffic signalisation -until 30 Nov due to roadwork between Otrić and Zrmanja, there is a speed limit and temporary traffic regulation .DC2 Osijek-Vukovar: -until 17 December traffic is suspended due to roadwork between the DC2-ŽC4111 intersection and entrance in the Vukovar city, traffic will proceed on the bypass road ( DC2 (Nemetin junction) - DC213 (Sarvaš - Bijelo Brdo) - DC519 (Dalj - Borovo) - DC2 (Vukovar)) DC8 Adriatic road: -due to roadwork on some sections, there is temporary traffic signalisation DC14 Zabok-Zlatar Bistrica: -due to the poor condition of the road and the bridge at the Poznanovac junction, there is a traffic ban between Poznanovec and Dubovec; DC28 Cugovec – Zvijerci – Bjelovar – Veliki Zdenci state road: -until 31 July due to roadwork between Bjelovar and Letičani, there is a traffic ban on all vehicles, detours on local and state roads. DC512 Makarska-Ravča state road: - open for traffic from 3 July 2026; DC547 Sveti Rok-Jasenice state road: -traffic is suspended for all vehicles due to road damage TRAFFIC BAN FOR FREIGHT VEHICLES Until 15 September on Saturday (4am - 2pm) and Sunday (noon - 11pm), there will be a summer traffic ban for all freight vehicles with a maximum total weight exceeding 7.5t on some state roads in Istria and on the coast (except on motorways and the DC1 state road). Due to bridge damage traffic is suspended between the Stara Gradiška and Gradiška border crossings (Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina) in both directions. The border crossing Gornji Varoš (HR) - Gradiška (BiH) is open from May 19th. At the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro a new system of entering/exiting the country (so called Entry/Exit System - EES) is applied. It means that apart from having travel documents biometric passenger data will be collected (four fingerprints and face photo). The law does not refer to EU citizens. Notifications about waiting time at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Access to cameras at border crossings is provided on the Croatian Automobile Club website. Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes. The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing. At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h). Starting 3 July 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing. Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing. Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road. The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only. The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January 2023).

The catamaran line 659 Split - Bol - Hvar - Vis - Hvar - Split is suspended.  On 10 July, the ferry line 634 Orebić-Dominče will depart from Orebić at 1:30am instead of 12:30am. Traffic forecast for 10 July 2026 Intensified traffic is expected on roads in direction coast, especially on the Zagreb bypass road in direction Lučko, the A1 and A6 motorways, Rijeka bypass road, Istria’s motorways between the Učka tunnel and the Učka junction and near the Limska Draga viaduct, on the Krk bridge, and on access roads to major tourist destinations. Traffic jams are possible in roadwork areas, tunnels, and near rest areas and pay tolls. We advise drivers to travel during the night, early in the morning, late in the afternoon or in the evening in order to avoid high temperatures and traffic jams and queues. Increased traffic for freight vehicles is expected at most of border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. No difficulties are expected in ferry traffic.
